Bestiary

Predators of the dark.

Native to Caverous

Rensnarqs

Native to the caves and tunnels of Caverous. Once upon a time they fed on moss and small animals. Now they have become accustomed to feeding on miners.

  • · Twelve scarlet eyes
  • · Twenty randomly-placed claws
  • · Rows upon rows of teeth
  • · Apex predator of the underpasses
From the darkness of the tunnel, I made out one large unblinking red eye, and then another, and then another. Near as I could count in my panicked state, twelve scarlet pupils were fixated upon me, encroaching ever closer. As it approached, the lights of the cavern began to illuminate the shape of this terrible creature… a wild contorting body, a pale hairless face dripping with excited purple drool at the prospect of its imminent meal. As it approached ever closer, I witnessed its grinning jaw part to reveal rows upon rows of sharp destructive teeth.

Native to Bandemol

Xenqals

These vicious animals are used to foster entertainment in the gladiatorial fighting arena of Fa Shee Kin Kala. Our hero is forced to battle five of them for the amusement of bloodthirsty pirates.

  • · Size of a gorilla
  • · Six needle legs
  • · Eight vampiric teeth
  • · Bauble-tipped, swinging tail
I ask you to picture a beast the size of a gorilla; a creature that walks on six strong, needly legs, as sharp as the most well-kept sword. A monster with two large bulbous eyes of a pure, pale, discomforting and unreadable white. A mouth that split its entire head, snapping up and down between eight mighty and singular vampiric teeth… All this wrapped up in a thick, furry coat of deep bloody red.
These creatures were designed visually by nature for one singular purpose. To evoke absolute fear and terror in their victims.
